Planning Permission?
From October 1st 2008 a submission for Planning Permission will be required for non-permeable Surfaces, Pattern Imprinted Concrete being an example in this instance
The purpose of this requirement is to prevent the Stormwater Drain System in the road and eventually the rivers from being unnecessarily over filled in periods of heavy rainfall.
However :
- These requirements do not apply to Wales & Scotland
- They apply to the area between the front of the house and the road
We take full ownership of both your requirements and responsibilities as the customer in order to satisfy the local Council's planning guidelines. All I’s are dotted and T’s are crossed before we proceed with any works.
We can do this with Soakaways and draining to the garden, and regardless of these requirements The English Imprinted Driveways Company always ensure we install adequate drainage for your drive as a matter of course!.
In situations where the drainage is not particularly good, we can make use of Storm Drains. Providing we make our best effort to drain Driveway Accumulated Rainwater into the SUB soils below, WE WILL NOT NEED PLANNING PERMISSION.
Our Site Surveyor will look at all options in order that all requirements are met.
On rare occasions there may be no option but to apply for Planning Permission. We will apply for permission and costs for this are approx £150.00 and can take up to 8 weeks to complete.
